School Coordinator-Cambridge Section Head

Our client is a School located along Nairobi Kangundo Road, and we seek to fill the Coordinator position for the International School Section. Main role: The School Coordinator is expected to oversee Cambridge Education Curriculum implementation, manage learning activities and customer service and ensure that teachers attend to their lessons accordingly. The Coordinator's role will also involve partnering with the School Management, other administrators, school staff, parents and students to design and implement programs and services in the section that they are responsible for at the school that meet the needs of students, the parents and the management. Reporting to: Managing Director

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop positive working relationships with school principals, administrators, teachers and staff, families, and community members. Specific Responsibilities and partner organizations.
  • Participate in applicable school teams and effectively contribute to resolving resource support needs.
  • Ensure appropriate Cambridge Curriculum is implemented in the section appropriately.
  • Implement quality assurance and coordinate quality assurance assessments with external partners.
  • Plan, organize and implement training programs for the section's teachers and learners.
  • Initiate marketing activities to ensure that the number of learners increases in the section.
  • Organize and build engagement with potential community school stakeholders, including students, school staff, families, and other community residents.
  • Manage and maintain the discipline of learners and Teachers in the section.
  • Conduct community needs and resource assessments periodically with parents, school staff, students and community groups to determine specific service needs.
  • Come up with communication and customer service strategies in the section.
  • To provide information about the school to prospective new students and people enquiring on their behalf, face-to-face and by answering written inquiries.
  • Assist the accommodation & welfare officer (Dorm Master) with providing accommodation for the learners where necessary.
  • To be one of the staff members on call out of office hours to deal with problems or emergencies by telephone
  • To operate and help maintain the school's customer management system (CMS).
  • To keep the Managing Directors informed of all important matters by ensuring that weekly, monthly, and termly reports are shared on time.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in Education.

  • A master's degree in education will be an added advantage.
  • Over five years’ experience in international Schools as a head teacher or a Deputy Head Teacher.
  • Should have CIDTL qualification.
  • Over 35 years.
  • Good Communication skills.
  • Good Computer literate (MS Office essential).
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Hard-working and reliable attitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Experience dealing with UKBA, British Council, and English UK.
  • Fluency in English (Minimum C1 on the CEFR) .The following are not minimum requirements but would be advantageous.
